The Savile Row 3824 has landed

Please forgive the sporadic updates—Let this be a lesson to those of you considering graduate school: Kiss your free time goodbye!

That said, my wet shaving experiences over the past several months have been incredible. Now witness the culmination: The Savile Row 3824 Silvertip badger hair shaving brush. Many in the wet shaving community consider this to be one of the finest, most luxurious, highest quality brushes available.

But, does it live up to its reputation you ask. Rest assured I will post juicy details the first chance I get, but since I traditionally don’t shave during final exams I’m sporting quite a beard. It’s itchy, it’s scratchy, but it’s waiting for the right blade to come along, and that’s a whole ‘nother story. Stay tuned…

Shave Den Metamorphosis!

Franz Kafka eat your heart out!

When I saw this spice rack on eBay I knew it could transform my bathroom, especially since I had been keeping my shaving acquisitions on one side of my sink. Not bad for $20 on eBay. The seller and I are even in the same state so UPS Ground arrived the next day.
Beautiful aged spice rack

This antique-looking spice rack was just $20 on eBay—a superb find.

I also went ahead and mounted a mirror on a retractable arm right next to the shower for easy access—no more fidgeting with the hand-held mirror during shaving.

It really adds a dash of old-fashioned ambiance which is strikingly appropriate to wet-shaving. It’s not alot compared to some guys over on SMF or B&B, but I’ve only just gotten started and presently only have a mild case of SCAD… that’s Shaving Cream Acquisition Disorder.

I’m sure there are even better deals to be had out there, particularly in areas of the country where there tend to be more quality items at estate & yard sales and antique & second-hand stores—so keep your eyes peeled!

WSJ is in its infancy, but there are many ideas to be had and standards to be set. I would like WSJ to be: a pleasure to read, easy on the eyes, and always a classy place (i.e., no ads and no pop-ups).

Please feel encouraged to send along your design and feature suggestions in addition to feedback about the general feel of the site as a whole. If you are reading this, thank you for doing so—I look forward to providing you with useful information and genuine entertainment!
